Notas sobre la digitalización del Duelo.

No signal es la imagen-texto que aparece cuando las proyecciones y las pantallas de reproducción de video se encuentran sin señal o sin imagen. Es la imagen que aparece sin signo, permaneciendo la luminancia tonal que esta emite, dicha luminancia advierte su falta de imagen y ‘sentido’ a través del mensaje sin más que rebotar en el espacio en que el emisor luminiscente la enmarca. 

Así mismo, es la imagen carente de imagen, que pretende la fuga sin sentido de lo que la contiene. Es solo la imagen de la luz, advirtiendo su falta de huella a partir de su significante atribuido a una muerte anunciada que nunca nació.

El Duelo en esta obra, se manifiesta en varios aspectos escultóricos, fotográficos y videoinstalativos, donde el peso matérico y el digital se ven implícitos en este particular modo de procesar la muerte desde su ritual hasta su sentido de pérdida y aflicción.

A raíz de esto, se devela el creciente uso de dispositivos tecnológicos, mecánicos y mediáticos que atraviesan de manera acelerada la muerte, la memoria, y el sentido del recuerdo protagonizado por la ausencia y la alegoría.

Notes on the Digitalization of Grief

"No Signal" is the image-text that appears when video screens and projection surfaces are without a signal or image. It is the image that appears without a sign, while still maintaining the tonal luminance it emits. This luminance warns of its lack of image and 'meaning' through a bouncing message framed by the light-emitting source.

Thus, it is the image lacking an image, which attempts the meaningless escape of what contains it. It is only the image of the light, warning of its absence of a trace based on its signifier attributed to an announced death that was never born.

Mourning (or Grief) in this work is manifested in various sculptural, photographic, and video installation aspects, where material and digital weight are implicated in this particular way of processing death, from its ritual to its sense of loss and affliction.

Stemming from this, the increasing use of technological, mechanical, and media devices is revealed, which rapidly traverse death, memory, and the sense of remembrance, all protagonized by absence and allegory.
